I didn’t know much about St Louis prior to my arrival, and sadly, I wouldn’t learn much about the city itself during this trip – my three days here would be divided between my hotel room, the conference center, and wherever we ended up for social gatherings in the evening.

One of my favorite conferences of the year, we were gathered at Four Seasons for the 53rd Annual Travel and Tourism Research Association Annual International Conference. A fantastic venue for our group, Four Seasons treated us like tourism royals, with everyone complimenting the hotel on its service.

Most notable was the feedback on housekeeping: the staff treated your room like your parents were coming in to tidy everything up while you were out. Folding clothes beautifully, tucking away toiletries ever-so-carefully… even leaving a sunglass cleaner next to your lenses on the counter, and tying up your cables with care. We were all blown away by this attention to detail by housekeeping, and it truly reminded me how a property can go above and beyond in this department.

I arrived back to my room on our second night just knackered. I had lost my voice from conversation, and with a mountain of email piling up, I felt it was best to rest, clear my inbox, and enjoy sunset over The Gateway Arch… but hunger quickly caught up to me, and I thought this moment would be best completed with a club sandwich.

I was quite intrigued by Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis choice on the double-toothpick for their club sandwich. Clearly they were concerned about both plating and holdability – this might be the first double-toothpicking I’ve come across, but like the rest of the hotel, I’m sure it was done with great reason.

Insanely BBQ-like deep flavored meaty bacon paid homage to the foods St Louis is famous for. The nicely roasted turkey combined with the creamy avocado and decadently spicy chipotle mayo made for an excellent combination. Salty, savory, spicy, the Four Seasons St Louis Club Sandwich delivered deliciousness in a beautiful moment of work meets relaxation.

I literally ate all of the insanely crunchy and smooth French fries, which complimented this club sandwich so well.

A great stay, a wonderful hotel, a very positive experience – if I ever need to be back in St Louis, I will stay at the Four Seasons.
