It was hard to choose a location and hotel for our short stay in Seoul. We settled on something five stars within walking distance of Myeongdong. Our children – only 4 and 6 – had proven excellent walkers during our time in Beijing, so even being a 30 minute jaunt from our Korean BBQ dinner reservation didn’t phase us.

Google Maps does not work in Seoul; instead, I had to download what one would describe as a wildly 3rd world version of the app, in order to understand how to walk from point A to B. This app helped me find hotels in a suitable location. The final ask: we needed a single room equipped with a king bed for us and two smaller for our children, and nearly every hotel we looked at would only provide one cot.

Alas, The Pullman Ambassador Seoul checked all of the boxes, providing us a fantastic suite equipped with bunk beds and slide for the children’s pleasure.

We gorged ourselves on Korean BBQ and Myeongdong nighttime sweets, savoring the quality of life Seoul presented at a fraction of the price we experience in America. Another long stroll, a stop at 7-11, and we were headed home to hang out in our glorious hotel room.

Long days lend themselves to constant hunger, and of course, we decided to indulge in in-room dining prior to bed. I couldn’t resist the Pullman’s club sandwich, so we placed our order, got into pajamas, and watched TV, dancing around the room and reveling in the moment.

Gorgeously plated, an eye-catching execution by the chef, followed by an overflowing amount of mayonnaise that essentially drowned the entire sandwich in a sauce not-worth-bragging-about.  This club sandwich was all style over substance. I THINK the ingredients were good, but truly, the only way I could obtain my review of them was to dissect each layer – not how you want to enjoy a club sandwich.

The side salad was a simple crowd pleaser, but to my surprise, the French fries were divine and highly addictive. Perfectly sliced, fried, and seasoned, I didn’t want to eat them all, but I absolutely did.

We loved, truly loved, our stay at the Pullman Ambassador Seoul, I would 100% recommend this property to anyone staying in the city, but gosh, do not get the club sandwich unless you’re simply looking for the perfect Instagram shot.
